The most important thing you can do to prepare your home for all the friends, family, presents, food and celebrations that are part and parcel of Christmas is to make space for them!
Getting your home ready for Christmas? There’s still time to order new furniture for Christmas – our last date for guaranteed delivery is 7th December 2013.
The living room is the main focus for Christmas Day.
Storage space should be first on the list, especially when you know when the room will soon to be filled with over excited children and chattering family and friends. Why not buy a piece of furniture that has storage space too? What about our bestselling Moble Oak bookcase that comes with 4 shelves and useful drawers too?
A coffee table is a useful investment and great for balancing all those Christmas drinks and snacks. Our coffee tables all have beautiful design and solid build. We also stock nests of tables in our mahogany and Shiro Walnut ranges.
Dining room – the centrepiece of the day
The dining room is another key focus for the big day. Will your table fit all your guests? Do you have enough chairs and crockery? And that’s before you start thinking about the food! Our Aston Oak dining room table is stunning but if you can’t splash out on a new suit what about a new bench from our Atlas range?
Bedroom – are you expecting overnight guests?
You are likely to need an extra bed over the Christmas period. Here are a few tips for creating the perfect guest bedroom. Some hanging or drawer space is useful, so free up a bit of storage for your guests. Open the windows for an hour or two while you vacuum and dust, then make up the bed with fresh linen. An extra blanket is a nice touch and provide bath and hand towels for them, too. If you are trying to make a good impression, what about some flowers in a vase or providing a few nice toiletries?
The operations hub – your kitchen
You don’t want lots of clutter out on your worktops – you’ll need that space for preparing the food and mixing drinks! Don’t leave it until the turkey is due in the oven to find the large roasting tin in a cupboard and find it caked in last year’s grease. This goes for other once-a-year items, too, so look out the gravy boats, clean decanters, coffee makers, cheeseboards and so on now and give them a good wash.
Have a pre-Christmas blitz Before the place becomes filled with decorations, presents, and people!
