If you work from home, you owe it to yourself to set up a proper office space. It's important that you have somewhere to concentrate that's separate from your home life — and is hopefully a nice space to spend time in.

Not many homes today have a separate room to make into a home office, so here at The Wooden Furniture Store, we’ve got some clever workspace solutions which mean you can set up an office in the living room, dining room or even spare bedroom.

The first trick is to find a desk that’s right for the job.  We have three designs that are perfect for small spaces because, if you love your desk, being stuck behind it all day isn’t such a bad thing!

An important consideration is to ensure you can switch off when you’re not working.  If you don’t have a separate room for your office, how can you shut the door and “leave” work?  Our  Shiro Walnut Hidden Home Office is the answer.

The clever Shiro Hidden Home Office keeps everything tucked away neatly....

When not in use, the innovative design allows you to tidy all of your work items away into the neat hidden home office desk and then transform into a stylish piece of furniture in its own right that would look great in the dining room.  The desk has plenty of clever features and plenty of storage.  It has a hinged pull out keyboard drawer to provide additional working space, the left hand opening that holds the computer tower has a removal shelf, there are two shelves on the right hand side and two internal drawers.

The Shiro Walnut hidden home office features tongue and groove back, dovetailed drawers and are finished with stylish bronze coloured handles.   It’s made of walnut which is a high quality timber with with a dense, dark grain and has been finished with a resilient satin lacquer to bring out the woods natural beauty.

If you have some extra space the Shiro Walnut range includes a low bookcase and two drawer filing cabinets.

If you have a bit more space to have an office in your living room then the  Mobel Oak Single Pedestal Desk may be the answer.  Although it is compact it doesn’t lack storage space of features.  A pull out keyboard shelf provides useful working space and its cupboard door slides back onto itself to give easy access to your tower unit.

Perfect for smaller spaces, this oak computer desk is a great solution...

The drawers are made with dovetail joints and carefully positioned pre-drilled holes allow cables to be tidied neatly away.  The desk is finished with a resilient satin lacquer finish that is hardwearing and highlights the beautiful oak grain. If you need some additional storage, the Mobel Oak range also includes a narrow bookcase and printer cupboard.

Creating a home office in a redundant corner of a guest room maximises the use of space and the white painted Vermont Twin Pedestal Desk is a great solution.

The desk has plenty of storage space.  On the right hand side has a large cupboard with compartments designed to hold computer equipment, a tower unit, a modem shelf and also a drawer.  The left hand cupboard has two large adjustable shelves to hold a printer and scanner and to maximise your workspace there is fold out key drawer.  The desk is made from hard wearing ash that has been treated with a treated with a seven step paint process to give a clean, fresh, finish.
